We often work with apprentices who, for various reasons need a little extra support. Fortunately, we can access some extra funding under the government’s Additional Learner Support initiative, which we call our Above & Beyond programme. This funding is used to introduce ‘reasonable adjustments’ to the normal way that we provide learning or assessment in order to help individuals overcome any difficulties.

When accessing the additional support funding, Cheynes Training must gather evidence of the learning issues, these issues may be temporary or longer lasting and can also include a medical diagnosis that requires adjustments. We have had cases ranging from severe diabetes to high functioning anxiety and diagnosed mental health conditions.

If you have an apprentice who is struggling with parts of their apprenticeship programme, and who you feel would benefit from some extra help, please contact the Cheynes Training lead on Above & Beyond, Melissa Birch at  melissa@cheynestraining.com
