Safety in the Salon

The health, safety and wellbeing of all those involved with Cheynes Training is of the utmost importance.  Far too many people are injured through accidents at work and we will do all we can to help reduce the risk of things going wrong!  But, you too have an important part to play in reducing accidents.  You can do this by taking the following action.

1. Download and print off the Be Safe Booklet and then read it through carefully.
2. Click on the link to ERR that may be found at the top of this page and then work through the interactive Health and Safety module.
3. Click on the link and visit the wiseup2work.co.uk website which will bring you up to date with what you can do to help make your salon safer.

Wiseup2work was launched in 2006 by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and is sponsored by the LSC

IOSH want to get all Candidates thinking about health and safety.

Over the last five years more than 50 under18s lost their lives in a place of work somewhere in the UK and nearly 13,000 others were badly injured. Across Europe, young people have 50% more accidents than older people in the workplace. But how do you deliver serious messages to an audience more concerned with iPods than injury statistics?

Wiseup2work.co.uk provides the answer. This new interactive online resource contains high impact games and information to get the key messages across to work placement students, part timers, apprentices and first jobbers. The site has plenty of materials and guidance for educators and employers too.
